Training in Inspection Skills

How to become your school’s ‘Resident Inspector’

Dear (NAME),

This two-day training course has been developed by highly experienced lead school inspectors. It is delivered by a former Principal Inspector and nationally acclaimed trainer with over 20 years of experience as an Ofsted inspector!

The course is designed to equip participants with similar skills used by newly trained school inspectors. Each area is covered in a realistic setting. Using examples from inspection, the revised September 2016 inspection process is covered in detail to ensure that all delegates gain appropriate and up-to-date skills.

Outcomes:

  • A skilled ‘Resident Inspector’ who heads up the quality assurance aspect of your school’s future work.
  • A thorough understanding of how to apply the revised September 2016 handbook for inspection and what to look for during a school inspection, lesson observations and work scrutiny.
  • Knowledge of how the right evidence is collected and recorded to secure judgements.
  • Increased confidence in making judgements about the quality of teaching and pupils’ outcomes.
  • More rigorous evaluation of pupils’ progress through work scrutiny, discussion and performance data.
  • A strong evidence base to support self-evaluation and build your capacity for sustained improvement.

At the end of the 2-day course you will be more Ofsted ready than you could possibly imagine!

This training course is suitable for:

Experienced and new leaders, headteachers, senior teachers, heads of department/faculties and subject leaders.
