A Very Happy New Year To You!

2016 is already an exciting year for us here at Premier Education Group. The new year brings with it our latest franchisee induction training course and the launch of four new franchises in Dudley, Telford, Bridgwater and Hucknall. I can’t wait to introduce to you our new franchisees over the coming weeks.

Our new starters are currently half way through their induction training and itching to get children active by bringing Premier to their part of the world.

On another extremely positive note, The bfa / Natwest franchise survey has just been published and it has confirmed yet again that UK franchising is a buoyant and growing sector. I am proud to be an elected Board Director of the British Franchise Association (bfa) and to be associated with ethical franchising. The sector has more than doubled in size to over £15 billion since I began working in the franchise arena 16 years ago.

There are a host of positive stats to come out of this survey e.g. a record 97% of franchisee-owned units reported profitability, with 56% saying they are ‘quite’ or ‘very’ profitable. This is proof once again that investing in a franchise is a lower risk option for you compared to starting out alone. Also, if you are looking to run your own business, your investment is more secure with a franchise.

£15bn Franchise Sector Sets Number of Record Highs

New research has shown the UK’s franchise sector is operating at record levels with all-time highs reported in turnover, employment and numbers of franchisee-owned businesses. Franchising contributed £15.1bn to the economy last year and employs 621,000 people, according to the independently researched British Franchise Association / NatWest Franchise Survey 2015. Both figures are up more than 10 per cent since 2013.

The number of franchisee-owned businesses topped 44,000 in 2015, over one-third of which are run from home. The performance of those businesses also set new benchmarks, with 97 per cent reporting profitability and over half turning over in excess of £250,000.

Sporting Future - A New Strategy for an Active Nation

Department for Culture, Media & Sport and Tracey Crouch MP (Secretary of State for Sport, Tourism and Heritage) released; A New Strategy for an Active Nation, in late December. This cross-government strategy will tackle head on the flatlining levels of sport participation and high levels of inactivity in this country. Through this strategy, government is redefining what success in sport means, with a new focus on five key outcomes: physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing, individual development, social and community development and economic development. In future, funding decisions will be made on the basis of the outcomes that sport and physical activity can deliver.

Awarded for Improving Franchisees Support Fourth Year Running...

We’re pleased to announce that Premier Sport was last week presented with the ‘Continuous Improvement Award’ at this year’s 2015 Best Franchise Awards. This is the fourth year Premier has entered the awards and this particular accolade is given to those Franchisors which have improved their support and service to their Franchisees year on year.

The awards are based on the results of the Smith & Henderson Benchmark survey, an independent and industry recognised survey. The survey looks at a number of key areas within the franchise model, including Training & Support, Marketing, The System, Culture & Relationships, Stewardship, Value & Rewards and General Satisfaction.

Stage 1: The Discovery Day...

As soon as you complete our simple online contact form, Phil our Business Development Director will invite you to one of our upcoming Discovery Days near you. This day offers you the chance to meet us and ask any questions you may have. New to our Discover Day format, you’ll now get the opportunity to observe our Premier Sport team in action at an after school sports activity within a local school. Following this, you'll get the chance to meet and ask any questions to the local Premier Sport franchisee. Discovery Days start a 12pm and finish approximately 4pm.
