Match-Funding is back - supporting 2015 National School Sport Week

After an overwhelming response, our partners Premier Sport has taken the popular decision to support schools again this year by re-opening the Match-Funding opportunity in the weeks leading up to the National School Sport Week (Mon 22 June - Fri 26 June). This means you will gain access to our popular nation initiative for less than £1.50 per child* for a whole year.

It takes less than one minute to apply!

You have to be quick! The application process for your funding pot will be available until Friday 19th June only. Applicants are encouraged to apply at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment. The application process will remain open until then or as soon as the funding has been allocated.

Assisting you with Ofsted accountability measures for the primary PE and sport funding

The Golden Mile is a perfect ALL inclusive initiative designed to engage even the most disengaged pupils to easily increase participation rates for your school, including virtual intra & inter competition.

Following the primary PE and sport funding, The Golden Mile is used by schools to provide impact measurements and to demonstrate the funding is spent effectively...

The impact of the funding will be considered in terms of:

  • Increased participation in competitive school sport
  • personal health and well-being
  • Improved attitudes and behaviour towards learning

“Inspectors must take account how increasing participation in PE and sport is helping all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are  capable of, when making judgements about the achievement of pupils at the school”

Via The Golden Mile data management system, activity levels can be monitored by viewing data graphs for individual pupils, classes and the whole school.

Duncan “Good-for-You” gets Aldershot and Ash children fit, active and healthy!

Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew MBE enthused four schools last month in Aldershot and Ash about the positive impact that sport and physical activity has made on his own life and the important role it can play in staying fit, healthy and happy.

During Duncan’s visit, pupils received an inspirational assembly about the gold medallist’s highs and lows during his ‘golden’ years.

Duncan also addressed the importance of an active and healthy lifestyle, as well as taking part in the Golden Mile, a national physical activity initiative designed to reward pupils for completing regular exercise. At Walsh Junior school in Ash, he also promoted Surrey CC’s primary schools’ competition to design a healthy menu that is “Fit for an Athlete” with Walsh pupils enjoying a St George’s Day menu of “Duncan Good for You Pollock”!
