Weekly News Update – Special Edition

In this final weekly newsletter of 2013, we've pulled together a selection of #morethansport stories published over the past few weeks. The #morethansport stories we've received from franchisees just this week will be published early in January.

You may have seen our new #morethansport campaign in full swing over the last couple of weeks displayed on all of our social media platforms.

#morethansport is our new external campaign to draw attention to the activities we as an organisation, you as individuals and on behalf of your business carry out over and above our industry activities.

Green fingered sports coaches go over and beyond call of duty

Premier Sport coaches Luke Banner and Holly Harrison would normally be inspiring the pupils on the sports field at Burrsville Community Infant School, Clacton-on-sea but recently they have been giving up their time each week to assist pupils attending the lunchtime Gardening Club at the school.

Premier Sport help young sports enthusiast beat the bullies

A young sports enthusiast endured years of such intense bullying which eventually resulted in the 12 year old never leaving the house. The bullying got that serious his father sold the family home and moved away from the area as he feared the bullying would result in his 12 year old self harming. That was until he started to attend Premier Sport PE lessons and extracurricular sessions at his new school.

Premier Sport has positive impact on patients at Hollins Park Low Secure Unit, Warrington

Premier Sport has been delivering dance classes at Hollins Park Low Secure Unit for people with mental health disabilities. The unit itself helps monitor the patient's mental health, wellbeing, and safety. Premier Sport was approached by the secure unit some six months ago to deliver a dance class to the patients as a number of them were dance enthusiasts.

Working alongside schools to deliver ‘outstanding’ PE

Daniel Garrod, a PE coach for Premier Sport was recently observed by Ofsted at Southover CofE Primary School in Lewes, East Sussex. Ofsted's feedback on Daniel's session was fantastic with the overall assessment scoring 'Outstanding'.

Premier Sport & Cambridgeshire School raise funds for East Anglia's children's hospices

A sponsored penalty shootout organised by Premier Sport at Fordham Primary School in Cambridgeshire raised £656 for the school and East Anglia's Children's Hospices.

Read Oli's story – the latest successful candidate to join the Education and Sports Coaching Programme starting September 2014

Premier Sport and Virtual Learning UK are offering a unique opportunity for 16 – 18 year old males and females in Norfolk & Suffolk who wish to pursue a career in sports coaching.

The course has already attracted a number of suitable applicants following a number of Open Evenings at venues across Norfolk and Suffolk. The programme offers a fantastic opportunity working towards a BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in Sports Development.

Premier Sport's Recruitment Director elected Regional Chair for the British Franchise Association (BFA)

Premier Sport are proud to announce our Recruitment Director, Phil Gaffer has been elected BFA Regional Chair for the Midlands Forum.

In 2012, Premier Sport gained full membership with the BFA becoming the only full member in our sector. We adhere to their code of ethics for professional business format franchising with an open and transparent approach.
