Coach BMS login and coaches page

Yesterday we announced that your coaches will now have access to the BMS for the very first time. They will be able to:

  • View and edit profile information
  • View employment, qualification and certification information
  • View courses they have been attached to and get registers
  • View their working calendar
  • View, create and edit delivery plans

In addition, we will also be able to contact your staff directly with a whole host of notifications previously only received by the franchisee, saving you time in the process.

All coaches and franchisees have been emailed a link to a training video which will take them through how to obtain a log in and assist them whilst navigating around the new coach pages.

View the training video again here.

If you have coaches without email address entered on the BMS, please update their BMS profile; as they will need to have an active email address recorded in the system to gain access. When a coach is made inactive, their access to the BMS will immediately stop, so be sure to make staff inactive if they no longer work for you.

News from Compass - appointment of Andy Reed

We are delighted that Andy Reed, former MP for Lougborough and now MD of Saje Impact will be supporting Compass with its Political Strategy and engagement.

The primary purpose of Saje Impact is to assist sports bodies & charities manage their stakeholder relationships and to help bring social transformation projects to life. They already work with a wide variety of sports bodies and are familiar with Whitehall and Westminster as well as the sports environment. In Parliament Andy was PPS to Sports Ministers and chair of various back bench sports groups and worked in DCMS, DEFRA and the Treasury with various Ministers.

Since leaving Parliament, as a respected voice for sport and recreation, Andy has become Chair of the Sport & Recreation Alliance – the umbrella body for 320 NGBs and Associations of sport as well as volunteering at the ASA, Special Olympics, Volleyball Foundation & BBL Foundation. In Parliament Andy was respected across all sides of the House for his passion for sport and maintains strong links with former and new MPs, ministers and officials in his various roles. However, it is in his understanding of the way Whitehall works and what drives politicians that Andy can bring greatest added value. He was awarded an OBE in 2012 for Services to Community and Sport.

News from Compass... CAPRE Register

We believe that delivering sport and physical activity to young people is a unique skill that deserves to be recognised. The Register of Children’s Activity Professionals (Capre) has been developed to regulate this industry and ensure that those delivering sport and physical activity have the appropriate skills and industry approved qualifications.

By joining Capre, not only will you be able to gain the edge in what is becoming an increasingly competitive industry, you will also be able to provide assurance to parents, schools, clubs and employers that you hold recognised, industry-approved qualifications and show your commitment to ongoing professional development.

We firmly believe that Capre will help develop the capabilities and capacity of your staff to deliver sport and physical activity to the highest standard, which in turn will achieve the common goal we all share of an increase in physical activity amongst children and young people.

The register will offer your employees the opportunity to have their qualifications recognised and will provide them a defined career pathway that they can follow for the future. By joining Capre, your staff can turn their job into a career.

The partnership between Compass and Capre is vitally important to ensure the future growth and development of our workforce.
