*MUST READ* Education Excellence Everywhere
Written by Yvonne Gandy, Education Strategic Lead, Premier Education Group
‘Every child and young person can access high quality provision, achieving to the best of his or her ability, regardless of location and prior attainment of background’
The Government’s White Paper, Education Excellence Everywhere, strategy overview (March 2016) and the intention to make all schools Academies by 2020 is causing concern. Threats to strike over the push towards academisation are being backed by unions as this goes to press – however, I would like to use the key elements, taken from the White Paper, as a framework to highlight key points raised in the paper.
Let’s also take time to reflect on Physical Education and Sport (PESS) and the use of external providers in schools and academies...

Premier Support for a Marathon Mum #morethansport
First time Marathon Runner Debbie Miles is just weeks away from competing in her first London Marathon to raise funds for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity and as she approached her last big run before the race, she was in for a little surprise as over 50 friends and family, plus some familiar faces to Premier converged at Eaton Park Norwich to cheer her on and lend their support.
Premier Sport has been providing Debbie with support since she first announced she was taking part in the London marathon challenge five months ago. And as Debbie set off on her 13 mile run on Sunday with husband Luke she was immediately joined by some surprise support in two running friends Nicci and Lucy. She was then joined halfway by another friend Leanne before making her way to Eaton Park. Two hours in she arrived at Eaton to be greeted by over 50 of her close friends and family and Premier’s very own Hare and Tortoise mascots, which had amassed quite a following as Debbie entered the park.
