It’s all about the DATA, DATA, DATA

As you know, we continue to invest significantly into supporting your businesses and championing the fantastic work you’re doing in schools across the UK.

One of the finest examples of this to date was last Friday when PEG CEO David Batch, Duncan Goodhew, Danny Melling and Andy Heald travelled to London to meet with the CEO of Sport England, Jennie Price and Head of Community Sport, Mike Diaper.

It’s not every day that you get the chance to meet with the very top of the Sport England organisation, but such is the scale that we’re ALL achieving at Premier, these are the types of meetings we are able to secure. Key stakeholders are now listening to us and respecting our opinion. After all, we are now working with over 12% of all Primary Schools in England! A figure we intend to increase to 20% over the next two years!

WATCH || Here’s what Danny had to say after the meeting. Before you click to watch the video, how many times do you think Danny say’s the word ‘data’ in one minute 19 seconds, we think it sets a new record!

Why should I bother with the Portal?

This school leader thanks their lucky stars that one ‘Outstanding’ Activity Professional did as soon as they got the dreaded call from OFSTED!

This particular school was not fully engaged in the portal and didn’t fully see the value at first glance. Luckily for us, this Activity Professional did and was diligently behind the scenes populating registers, lesson plans and pupil attainment records. How easy it would of been to say, ‘Well they aren’t bothered, so neither am I.’

Instead, sure enough, the day came and a knock at the door from Ofsted jolted the school into life, with the headteacher calling Area Coordinator Daren Plowman (North Norfolk) with a list of panicked demands. How good it must have felt to be in Darren’s position, ‘Relax, we have everything under control and what’s more, it’s all part of the service you have been paying for!’

ukactive Kids update - Fundamental, positive changes ahead!

Every week, behind the scenes we continue to work closely with ukactive kids to help shape the future landscape of our sector. You may or may not be aware that CEO David Batch sits on the board and is regularly attending meetings in London with key stakeholders and the ukactive team.

It may feel like there has been no progress since we embarked on this project (formerly COMPASS) a few years ago but often these things do take a while and we believe we are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel! Premier have recently piloted a new ‘Code of Practice’ which will be the only register in the UK which ‘Qualifies’ an organisation, or individual as ‘safe’ to work in schools!

What does this mean? Well it means that the ‘rogue traders’ who under-cut you on price because they don’t invest in qualifications, adequate insurance or CPD for staff, and who give our sector a bad reputation, WON’T qualify!

VIDEO | Schools Portal Orientation

As you’re aware, the purpose of the Schools Portal is to enhance the collaboration of our Activity Professionals, Area Leaders and School Leaders enabling you to monitor progress and participation of children and measure the impact that our specific activities and provisions are having on your schools.

To support you and your schools, we thought it would be useful to create an orientation video of the Schools Portal. We’ll hand you over to our National Quality Development Manager, Andy Heald to show you around.

SHARE | we’ve sent this to your schools and Activity Professionals, we urge you to do the same.
