Holidays are HERE! Inspire to Engage - Are you really ENGAGING or DISENGAGING?!

WOW it’s that time of year again and it seems only last week that I was putting together the structure of our Inspire to Engage holiday course programme. The summer holidays are undoubtedly the best time of year as an Activity Professional - delivering sport and fun physical activities to children in the sunshine (well, sometimes!), as well as a great opportunity to share ideas and commit to continual improvement.

The Golden Mile Sport Birmingham Partnership

Jeff Abram and Richard Parker in Birmingham have been in dialogue with the CSP, Sport Birmingham and Run Birmingham to find a way to get Golden Mile into schools on a similar scale to Active Surrey.

Sport Birmingham had already started developing their own scheme with Run Birmingham called ‘School Loops’. Although similar to the Golden Mile they propose to mark playgrounds with tracks and encourage children to run. This will be a funded option to schools. They will incorporate the Golden Mile into the offer to schools where the Golden Mile is the free offer and try and role this out to as many schools as they can in Birmingham.

IMPORTANT | Zorb/Bubble Football Insurance

Just a reminder that Zorb/Bubble football is NOT covered under our standard insurance offering. As a higher risk activity an additional insurance premium will need to be requested by LRO or Perkins Slade.

Disclaimers from 3rd parties are not valid in law and as such you would be liable for any claim brought against you whilst delivering under the Premier brand. This is the case for any other 3rd party activities, although some extremely high risk activities such as bouncy castles and trampolines will not even be considered by either of our policy underwriters.

Please see the lists of insurer activities for both brands below:

If you have any queries relating to insurance please contact Steve Eastaugh - Skills & Compliance Director.

Core Value Challenge #9 – Remain above the line at all times

Core Value of the week is number 9 – “remain above the line at all times” – something that should come naturally to any PEG professional! For your Activity Professionals to be in with the chance of winning the £250 prize, we want to hear how they’ve remained above the line this week. Simply send their video entries to Gemma on WhatsApp 07964 631 823 or [email protected] by 9am Monday 1st August. Here’s some inspiration to get you going...

It’s about going the extra mile to deliver “wow” with every interaction, excellent customer service, and continual professional and personal improvement. If you have a strong passion for your business, you will want to remain above the line at all times, continuing to strive for excellence. But what are the main types of “above the line” behaviour?

  1. Ownership – making things happen, rather than expecting them to happen because you feel entitled to them
  2. Responsibility – finding positive solutions to problems without dwelling on negatives, and taking personal responsibility for your success
  3. Accountability – being willing to take responsibility for your actions – everyone makes mistakes sometimes, and admitting them is essential for creating solutions

Remaining above the line is also down to your overall attitude. Having a positive attitude allows you to be the best version of yourself – something you should always aim for. Having a particularly stressful day or situation? Think to yourself – what/how would the best version of myself act in this situation? If you act in this way, then it will rub off on others and inspire them to remain above the line too!
