ukactive Kids Briefing - School Games Review

Yesterday saw the release of the Executive Summary of the recommendations of the School Games review. It sets out the future priorities of the Games and how Sport England plan to maximise its impact. ukactive Kids’ members were invited to participate in the School Games review which provided an opportunity for members to influence the review’s recommendations.

The review underwent three phases; desk top review, consultation, and recommendation formation. Recommendations include; promoting enjoyment in The School Games and strengthening volunteering; using technology to expand participation and sharing best practice; the evolution of the School Games Mark; more accountability and checks and balances for School Games Organisers (SGOs); and ensuring the economic efficiency of the Games.
