Andy Heald National Quality and Development Manager: “I hope you have all had a fantastic summer break and are reenergised with new ideas and a fresh focus for the new 2016/17 academic year!”

“I am excited to share my first Vlog of the 2016/17 academic year with you - the purpose is to ensure we are all focusing on the critical factors to ensure you create memorable experiences for everyone of whom you interact with but most importantly how can you make your first impressions the best they can be and deliver WOW through these interactions.”

We hope you find Andy’s first Vlog useful and we look forward to discussing this topic on Andy’s upcoming webinar on Wed 21st Sep. At 5:30pm. Check out the ‘Scheduled GoToMeetings’ section at the bottom of this newsletter for more info.

LAUNCH VIDEO New County Sports Partnership (CSP) joins The Golden Mile family!

“The momentum continues to build,” comments Golden Mile Director, Karl Fox.

He added: “we gained fantastic traction last year working with a County Sports Partnership (CSP) in Active Surrey. This has started to snowball with more CSP’s, including Active Devon now wanting to utilise the Golden Mile. In turn, this has providing our licensees access to hundreds of new schools.”

“I would like to thank the Surrey based licensees for all their hard work and a huge well done to Alex Ford for recognising this and making things happen with Active Devon.”

How can we ensure today’s four-year-olds are ‘physically ready’ for school?

The problem - New research has revealed a ‘concerning’ number of today’s four-year-olds are not physically ready to start school, with children’s mobility levels said to be at an all-time low.

The solution - The new Premier Transition, Play-Trition provides early years providers with the solution to these alarming findings.

Early-years specialists monitoring children of school age found a higher number experience problems with their balance and coordination than previously thought, ultimately affecting their ability to learn in class. Researchers from the University of Loughborough said the increase was partly a result of modern children being less active in their early years compared with previous decades, with typical movements associated with play and development reduced by the introduction of electronic toys and screens.

Central Support for Premier Transition licensees...

Launching a new Premier product can sometimes be quite daunting, but with our increased level of central support, it doesn’t have to be.

Starting from Monday and Thursday next week, Premier Transition will be hosting two weekly webinars, providing front-loaded support for pilot licensees. The webinars will provide an opportunity for licensees and their staff to refresh their memories and review each and every plan, week by week with the programme specialist to support their delivery and offer an opportunity for Q&A.

This is also a fantastic opportunity for the rest of the network to see what has been created and developed for each programme, to view the plans first-hand and listen to the key areas of discussion around them.

Keeping children safe in education – new statutory guidance for schools

This new guidance released by the government advises schools to ensure that all adults working in education should have an annual review on safeguarding.

With that in mind, it’s critical that you and your Activity Professionals read and understand section one of the document. Please also take some time to watch Andy Heald’s video explaining the guidance.

Download Guide

We recommend you contact your schools and notify them you are aware of this documentation and reassure them all Activity Professionals understand their safeguarding responsibilities.

Even though our Minimum Operation Standards state that safeguarding updates are every 3 years, we do recommend that all Activity Professionals seek annual safeguarding updates.

Investment interest increases - find out how you can benefit...

Over the summer we have seen a steady increase in the number of people enquiring about the business opportunities at Premier. Now here is the really interesting part, a growing percentage of prospects aren’t necessarily looking to work in the business but looking to invest in the business and have a senior team to run the franchise for them.

Typically the type of person I am talking with is currently in a senior level position, or business owner, looking to get involved within a sector which will provide them with that sense of value, create a legacy and importantly a financial return.
