A word from Activate’s Marketing Manager, Simon Perkins...

Excuse the video below, I’m far from an Andy Heald when it comes to on-screen performance...

I wanted to share some learnings that myself and Emily took away from our time out in franchise over the last week. On Friday, we spent a day in Gareth Simpson’s territory, followed by time with Danny Boswell on Monday...

The visits were part of a commitment to improve the level of support that Marketing offer franchisees, and spending time out in a franchise was the first step in ‘bridging the gap’ between HQ and life on the ground.

Both days followed a similar structure: We were able to observe and engage with AP’s as they delivered assemblies, curricular and extracurricular lessons, and had really productive meeting’s with Danny and Gareth to discuss all things marketing and the support they need to drive their business forward...

In summary, our key actions that we will be investigation are:

  • Increased branding availability (banners, flags, plaques, boards etc.)
  • Enhanced literature offering for Camps and ClubsResources for
  • Premier branded noticeboards
  • More graphics and templates for social media, including email ready literature
  • Assess literature suppliers and develop multi-printer relationships
  • Develop New Balance range
  • Customer journey for the website

Accounts Enquiries...

We’re pleased to say that turn-around time to pay franchisee accounts is the quickest it’s been for a while - with next day payments contributing to this.

Plans to further improve the speed in which we get payments into your account are in place, but we are aware our accounts department have fallen behind dealing with franchisee enquiries in recent weeks and we would like to apologise to you personally for that.

After Steve Girling left the company in October, David Batch has been concentrating on improving processes in an effort to speed up the flow of cash into your bank.

With this focus, coupled with long term staff absence - which we did not originally envisage would be more than a few days - our enquiry backlog has increased, and we have been unable to resolve your issues in a timely manner.

We are putting extra resource into this as we strive to provide a rapid turnaround time for both payment and enquiry times.

To help - we have created a new email address dedicated to your accounts queries, so they are not mixed with other emails and thus can respond much quicker.

If you have any accounts queries from now on, please email [email protected] for a faster response.

If you cc other people or addresses in, (like Courtney or Ricky), this will SLOW the response time while we establish if anyone else has begun dealing with your enquiry - so PLEASE just use this address.

Top Tips...

  • Check course is marked GREEN before enquiring
  • Have you checked to see if an invoice has been receipted and ‘pending’?
  • Do you remind schools (or councils), to send remittance advice?

To add to this process improvement, we are also planning much more important enhancements to actually make the school pay quicker - which is where the majority of the wait time lays. Currently 50% of all Awaiting Payments are OVERDUE FROM SCHOOLS.

In the meantime, you can mitigate this by ensuring your cash flow document is up to date and working on Debtor terms recommended in our training.

Thanks for your patience whilst we strive to deliver a WOW service.
