Features & benefits of employing an Apprentice

Premier Sport and Babcock are offering franchisees the chance to gain nationally recognised qualifications for their apprentices:

  • Activity Leadership including PESS L2 Qualification
  • Advanced Apprenticeship in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport

Why should your employees be qualified?

“Any adult supporting teachers in a physical education or school sport capacity should be qualified to a Level 2 National Governing Body (NGB) Award and working towards a Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport or equivalent.” afPE, March 2013**

**The expectation is that this requirement will be complied by 2015.

Upselling - know your product, know your customer!

Last week, Operations Director, Danny Melling went shopping for a new family car. He needed a reliable car as Danny and his wife are expecting their third child any day soon. The car needs to be big enough to fit three young children (and the luggage that goes with them i.e. prams etc) and two dogs for when they travel.

Danny’s main criteria is that the car needs to have good safety features and cost effective, whilst his wife’s additional criteria is to have a good driving position and be easy to drive!

Premier Sport quick facts

  • The top 10 performing franchisees receive, on average, £4,400 MORE per school, per year than the bottom 10 franchisees.
  • On average, the bottom 10 performing franchisees work with 14 schools. If they could apply the principles from the above article and up-sell into existing schools using Inspire products, these franchisees would increase turnover by £61,600.
  • 100% of the top 10 franchisees don’t DELIVER in their business, whereas 60% of the bottom 10% do. This suggests the bottom 10 don’t have TIME to sell and maybe that’s why SO FAR this academic year the top 10 turnover is £240k MORE than someone in the bottom 10 (3 yrs old and above).

A significant number of primary school children from Teesside have been getting physically active through The Golden Mile programme which is supported and funded by Tees Valley Leisure Limited. Participating schools and their pupils have already notched up more than 18,000 miles in just 18 weeks. This impressive achievement is almost the equivalent of travelling from their schools to the world cup in Rio and back twice!

Nominate to win £500

The 2013/14 Activity Professional Excellence Awards will be closing at the end of July. A reward of £500 will be given to two Activity Professionals that have demonstrated excellent service and have positive feedback to evidence this.

There are over 700 qualified Activity Professionals in our network; less than 1% has been nominated so far. It’s easy to nominate – email [email protected] with details of why your Activity Professional should be considered for one of the awards with supporting evidence.

It only takes a couple of minutes to send the nomination through; one of your staff will stand a chance of receiving £500 cash.
