Working smarter not harder creates wonderfully enjoyable experiences...

One of the biggest challenges your Activity Professionals (Act Pro’s) face when delivering is undoubtedly behaviour management and controlling children - we’re talking both curricular time and out of school hours. Behaviour management is the very first thing all headteachers and teaching staff are looking for when an Act Pro is deployed.

This leads in nicely to Andy’s latest log, focusing on key strategies and simple mechanisms to ensure all Act Pro’s are ‘working smarter not harder’ (CV no.8). By ensuring the class control and behaviour management is the best it can possibly be enables Act Pro’s to ‘create wonderfully enjoyable experiences’ (CV no.2), which is ultimately Andy’s secret to being the best!

Director appointed to head up new ‘Venture’...

We’re pleased to announce that Marketing Director Luke Miles has been appointed Head of Premier Ventures, a new arm of the Premier Education Group in addition to his current role.

The objectives of Premier Ventures are quite simple;

  • To create partnerships which add value to our franchisees
  • Develop commercial opportunities across all relevant sectors
  • Expand the brands and portfolio of products to overseas markets

“Luke and I have been working on developing this part of the business for the past six months. We recognise there are opportunities to further develop our offer to key stakeholders and organisations which will add value to our proposition for our franchisees and their customers,” comments David Batch.

Luke Miles comments, “We’re currently in negotiation with three significant corporate partners, a charity, two local authorities, projects in China and interest in expanding the brand in the Middle East, India, Australasia and Canada.”

“The Group has gone through a significant transition over the past few years with the development of new products, brands and leaner processes. I’m pleased to say the latter means we now provide more support options, better training for franchisees than ever before and we will continue to grow this support. It also means we’re in a position where we can really drive the business in new areas which will add even more value to the network.“

Introducing our extended marketing team...

Around six weeks ago, Director Luke Miles and the Marketing team sat down at their weekly meeting, with each member giving an update on their projects for franchisees and partners etc. It became apparent that while we are a team of four, we actually work with nearly 40 different organisations on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. From IP lawyers, suppliers, recruiters, government lobbyist, athletes, creative agencies and trade associations to name but few. So we thought it would be really good to introduce you to some of these companies and individuals.

We challenged all our partners to create a short video introducing themselves and the work they do to support the group and the network. Some have embraced this opportunity (mainly the creative agencies), some have been less forthcoming (mainly the lawyers), but nonetheless we will introduce you to them all through the weekly news over the coming weeks in one format or another.

First up we have OsbourneNash, a creative agency we’ve worked with for a number of years and our newly appointed BMS development agency Netmatters.

Contacts become contracts!

During Danny’s GoToMeeting session last Monday around Sales (see GoToMeeting section for more info); Danny challenged those in attendance to secure two referrals from each school they work in. Out of complete coincidence, Danny later read about the power and importance of referrals in Grant Cardone’s book ‘If you are not first you are last’!

Danny’s challenge comes after lots of success securing meetings thanks to referrals. One meeting secured was thanks to asking an apprentice for a referral contact from the school he used to work at before Premier Sport. Another was from asking his new bank manager for any school contacts – it turned out that his wife was a teacher in a Bolton school!!

Following recent data analysis and under consultation with the Franchisee Champions, the cut off point for online ECC club bookings will move to the day after the start of each course.

Premier perfect for rugby-mad PE graduate...

If ever there were a business partnership which perfectly fitted both parties, this is it...

Dan Gyles graduated this summer from the University of St Mark & St John University Plymouth with a BA (Hons) Degree in Coaching and Physical Education. Whilst at Plymouth, Dan balanced his studies with developing his coaching and leadership skills.

The love of rugby runs through Dan’s veins and this is easily demonstrated by Dan undertaking a long list of roles and activities including being Club captain of the University rugby team which gained promotion in his final season. Dan even had time to coach the University women’s rugby club, to put his rugby level 2 coaching qualification to good use. His time at Plymouth was capped off by being awarded the prestigious accolade of Sport Development and coaching student of the year.

You will have until 23rd October to complete the survey.

The match was played in great spirit with Premier Sport winning 3-1. This also provided a fantastic way for the team to enhance relationships and network with the opposition teachers and head teachers, some of which we are not working in.
