Primary school PE and Sport Premium – revised vision and objectives

Ukactive has been informed of impending changes to the vision and objectives of the Primary school PE and Sport Premium. The School Sport Premium is a government fund that provides money directly to primary school head teachers, designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils. These important changes to the premium have been agreed by Ministers but have yet to be officially announced.

Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund has recently launched the Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code, providing specific guidelines for all those who work outdoors with children. An article published by Govtoday praised Premier Sport for supporting the Sun Safety Code.

Premier Sport, Chief Executive David Batch said:

“As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the standard of care we deliver, this summer we introduced the Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code. The wellbeing of children whilst in our care is paramount and we felt that this should extend to sun protection. We embedded the guidelines into our business practices and now all our coaches lead by example.”
