February 2014 Issue 1

Dear Head Teacher,

Welcome to our first instalment of this new bi-monthly newsletter.

We have to begin by mentioning the fantastic news about the extended Sports Premium funding until 2020. The impact that this will have on pupils at the many schools with well planned provision, will positively affect their lives forever.

We know that a proportion of your premium funding has been allocated to the delivery of high quality Sport & PE from Premier Sport, so it's reassuring to hear how many ‘Outstanding’ ratings that schools we work within have achieved in the first school term of 2013/14.

The multi faceted approach to delivering curricular enrichment, up-skilling staff and offering a variety of physical activity to all pupils in and out of the school day, including for the many previously disengaged from sport, has certainly helped, but our support doesn't end on the playing field...

In January we launched our new FREE online schools portal. The portal can integrate with your own schools website and offers public information to parents and communities as well as providing a host of learning aids.

This fantastic online platform will also provide you with individual pupil performance & attainment records for each attended course which is a requirement of the PE and School Sport funding.

We hope you enjoy reading this newsletter, if you have any feedback we'd love to hear from you. Please drop us an email at [email protected]

Regards,

More than 3,000 children from 10 Middlesbrough primary schools have already signed up to take part in Tees Valley Leisure's year-long physical activity programme.
