Introducing the new starters for September – Part one

As you are aware we have had a busy spring / summer with a healthy interest in the Premier Sport Franchise opportunity.  I am delighted to introduce to you our latest intake of franchisees.

Jan Miller

Jan lives in Cricklade, Wiltshire and will be operating in the Swindon territory. Jan has 20 years experience as a secondary school teacher. Over this successful career Jan has held the roles of Head of Year, Transition Manager for Music & Drama and Vocational Education Leader.

For the last three years Jan has worked for ASDAN which is a national examining body as an Area Coordinator. Outside her educational career Jan can be found at unearthly hours at her local gym as she is passionate about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. Jan has also completed a Cycle India 500Km Challenge in aid of the cancer charity "Women for Women" raising over £3000 for the charity along the way. Jan can also be found along with her husband Paul watching their son play tennis and her daughter swim.

Gary Brown

Gary has enjoyed a successful career in secondary school education. Gary has 16 years experience as a secondary School Teacher. Over this period Gary has held the posts of KS3 & KS4 subject leader, English subject leader and Acting Head of English.

Gary lives in Little Snoring in Norfolk and will be operating in the St Albans territory. Gary can see the huge potential of the St Albans territory and fortunately for Gary he has family in the area so will be splitting his working week between Hertfordshire and Norfolk. Gary is actively involved with Fakenham Football club and is reserve team manager. If Gary has any spare time he can be seen on his racing bike as he has always enjoyed road racing. Gary is married to Marianne and has 4 children.

Tony Life

Tony joins Premier Sport following a successful career in the telecoms and technology arena. Tony was an International Sales Director for the last seven years for a worldwide, multi million turnover telecoms company. Prior to his last role Tony lived in South Africa and enjoyed a career in senior management and as a Director operating in the Telecoms sector in South Africa. Living in Colchester Essex, Tony has been responsible for sales throughout Europe and beyond and it is fair to say Tony has amassed a high number of Air miles over the last few years. Tony is therefore looking forward to not spending so much time in the air as he launches his franchise in the Braintree territory.

Tony has always lead an active life and has a passion for sport. His beliefs in the benefits of an active life were formed at the start of his career when he was deployed as a Commando in the Royal Marines.

Chris Oakley

Chris has a wealth of sports coaching experience gained from working for local councils and agencies. For the last 5 years Chris has worked for Hull City Council in a variety of roles all involved with sport and the community. Chris' roles included Head Coach for Sports Development, Action for blind Club Coordinator and Inclusive Activator. Chris is moving from Hull with his fiancée Heidi to launch his Premier Sport franchise in Sheffield. Chris has been fortunate to combine his passion for sport with his career to date. Chris is excited about launching his Premier Sport franchise as he feels it will enable him to take his interest in sport and all inclusive participation to the next level.

Chris is currently training to be a personal trainer in addition to playing Goalball. Chris is a key member of Hull outreach Goalball Club. His skill and ability has been recognised as Chris is a member of the Great Britain Goalball squad.

Steven Hoey

Steven Lives in Blaydon on Tyne which is located just outside Newcastle and will be launching his franchise in the Consett territory. Steven is a graduate with experience in the sport, leisure, retail and marketing industries. Steven was a Community College & Sports Centre Manager for a busy city leisure centre for 5 years.

Following this role Steven got to combine his passion for Basketball by being appointed the Community Basketball Coach / Team Manager for the Newcastle Eagles Basketball Club. Prior to this Steven was Head Coach for the City of Sunderland College basketball team.

Steven has been busy this year because in addition to completing his due diligence into Premier Sport he is currently renovating his house plus creating a vegetable patch! Steven has given himself a target of completing the renovation by September as thereafter it will be full on with the launch of his franchise.

I am delighted to welcome Jan, Gary, Tony, Chris and Steven to Premier Sport and it has been a pleasure working with them over the last few months as they have successfully completed the recruitment process. I am looking forward to following their success as they grow their businesses over the coming years.

I look forward to introducing the remaining new starter franchisees in next month's Recruitment newsletter.
