Introducing our ambassadors...

LAWRENCE DALLAGLIO OBE

An icon and figurehead of World Rugby, Lawrence Dallaglio has won virtually every accolade available in the game of rugby.

The former England captain is regarded as one of the World's greatest ever back row forwards, and was the only player to play every minute of every game during England's successful campaign in Australia, where they were crowned World Champions in 2003.

His exceptional achievements during an 18-year career with the Wasps include winning a hat-trick of Premiership titles, two European Cup victories and a Tetley's Cup win.

One of Premier's first Ambassadors, Lawrence is keen to put something back into sport at grassroots level.

"As a father of three children under the age of 10, I know only too well the void that exists of good qualified coaching for youngsters growing up today.

"It's only through the provision of well-organised, dedicated coaches throughout the country that we will see our children enjoy playing sport and reach their full potential, regardless of their level, which is why I'm 110 per cent behind Premier Sport and its aims."

DUNCAN GOODHEW MBE

Premier Sport's founding Ambassador, Duncan Goodhew, remains one of the country's most instantly recognisable sportsmen.

Duncan was captain of the Great Britain swim team at the 1980 Olympic Games, gold medallist in the 100 metres breaststroke and bronze medallist in the 4x100 metre medley relay.

He was awarded an MBE for services to sport in 1981. He set up and secured funding for the Youth Sport Trust and his successful Swimathon campaign has raised millions since its inception in 1988.

Duncan is a regular visitor to Premier's schools, and a master at giving inspirational speeches to children, after overcoming hurdles including losing all his hair aged 10 and dyslexia, in his own childhood.

"Developing a healthy interest in sport and exercise can play a crucial part in the future wellbeing of our children.

"Premier Sport co-ordinates and supports a team of highly trained, properly qualified coaches across the country.

"Their work provides children with a higher quality of sport and PE. It's exactly what has been identified as being required to meet the needs of Local Education Authorities, schools, parents and most importantly of all, children themselves."

BOBBY WHITE

Bobby White captained Team GB Handball at London 2012, the first time Great Britain had entered a Handball Team at an Olympics. Despite not reaching the podium, the main goal was to introduce the British public to this fantastic sport and build a lasting legacy which will see Team GB continue to challenge the best Handball teams in the world in future Olympic Games.

In 2007, Bobby had barely even heard of Handball. Five years later he was representing Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics as Captain.

Although he had never played the sport before 2007, Bobby's progress was exponential and after two years at the Great Britain Handball Academy based in Denmark, he went to on to play professionally for clubs in Greece and France.
