Welcome to our #morethansport News Update.

A key factor of every successful business is having clear communication. We recognise the importance of two way communication and that is why we have regular regional meetings across the country for our franchise owners, facilitated by Franchisee Champions.

I had the privilege to attend this week’s South West network meeting held in Taunton. The room was packed with franchisees wanting to share great ideas and discuss topics which will have a positive impact on them and their business. You will see from this newsletter that Duncan Goodhew visited a number of schools in Taunton to support Andrew our Taunton franchisee. Andrew was enthused about the impact Duncan had with the children and parents, his enthusiasm was infectious!

We also enjoyed watching a string of personal video testimonials from head teachers explaining the positive outcomes their schools are enjoying when working with Premier Education Group.

P.S Don’t forget, when asked, “how you are you today?” Don’t answer “Not too bad” try saying “outstanding!”

Yours,

Phil Gaffer
Business Development Director

Introducing Akin Akinbobola

We welcome Akin to the Premier Sport network this month as he launches his franchise in the Wolverhampton territory. Wolverhampton is a part of the world he knows well as, over the last nine years, he has been teaching in a local secondary school. He enjoyed the challenging role of Head of Department (ICT) as well as a KS3 leader.

Before becoming a teacher, Akin demonstrated his natural ability to inspire children by being a Social Worker working with disadvantaged children. This natural skill and passion can be further demonstrated with Akin being a volunteer for the Youth Offending Service ensuring that disillusioned children did not offend.

Assessments just keep rising

We are pleased to announce that, from August 2014 to now, we have already carried out more assessments on Activity Professionals than the whole of the previous year August 2013 - September 2014.

To date, 1084 assessments have been scheduled or carried out across the network. As we enter the half way stage of the summer term, Activity Professionals should now be receiving their 3rd assessment of the year. These are great opportunities to monitor staff improvement and performance, making CPD recommendations ready for the new school year.

Bethan wins Young Entrepreneur of the Year

Do you remember us telling you PPA licensee, Bethan Bradshaw was nominated for the 2015 Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Essex? Well, she only went and won...

Award winning Bethan collected her award from Stevie Ritchie (former X-Factor contestant) who commented “What Bethan does ensures young people are off the streets and out of trouble. Her selfless fundraising with children, in her own time, ensures they gain access to better facilities and opportunities to dance and perform.”

Bethan’s sponsor for the night was Thompson Smith and Puxon, a solicitors in Essex. The Executive Director commented “Bethan is a young entrepreneur who will be a leader of the next generation, she should be very proud, as are we.”

Bethan commented: “This was an extremely proud night for my family and I. It was a very fun night and great to share the experience with other people receiving awards including firefighters, charity workers, police officers and brave children.”

Change4Life is back with ‘10 Minute Shake Up’ in 2015

This year, Change4Life and Disney are back, working with ukactive to encourage families and kids to team up to shake up with their favourite Disney characters!

Change4Life require a commitment from our network to run free events aimed at children and families from July to the end of September 2015. These can be taster sessions, special events and offers encouraging everyone to get active in their local community. For example family fun days, open days, taster sessions or other brilliantly creative and imaginative activities aimed at children and families. You could provide offers and discounts to attract new members. We’ll also need you to keep a record of how many people attended your Change4Life events and provide case studies for us to promote the campaign during and after the summer.
