In March 2013, the Government announced a major new funding stream to support the delivery of Physical Education and School Sport (PESS) in primary schools. The most common use of the funding is up-skilling and training staff and recruiting sport coaches to work in schools. Initially the sport premium was allocated £159 million from 2013 – 2015, the funding has since been extended and a commitment has been made to the PESS premium to 2020.

Cast your mind back to Andy Heald’s Schools Portal session at #NTE16, we thought it’s important to share with you the ‘impact’ it’s had since the event. Remember the red, amber, green chart Andy showed you, displaying franchisees that are utilising the Schools Portal .vs those who are not? Here’s the change since #NTE16 -

• Five franchises have entered the green zone
• 11 franchises have left the red zone
• 54% of active schools now registered with passwords, an 47% increase from before #NTE16
