New leaflets distributed to your schools

We are delighted to announce that on the 18th June, every Primary School Head Teacher in the country will receive a brand new Premier Sport leaflet.

The 4 page leaflet will contain information about Premier Sport, the Inspire Programme and the Schools Portal benefits. We’ll let you know when a school in your territory contacts us.

5.7 million visits this school year...

Delivery of sport and physical activity reached record levels at Premier Sport in May, bringing our total to 5.7 million visits for an hour of activity since September 2013 - so even more young people than ever before are experiencing some form of physical activity through the innovative Inspire Programme.

Inspire to Compete - The Leigh Games supported by Premier Sport

The Leigh Games was last week contested by 20 local primary schools and over 500 pupils competing in a number of different sports. The event was organised by the local School Games Organiser (SGO) and supported by Danny Melling and Andy Heald’s Premier Sport team.

Performing Arts licensee continues rapid growth

After yet another successful round of HPA days, Premier Performing Arts licensee Stuart Hancock has managed to double the amount of business he currently has already for the new academic year.

Stuart has been putting in the miles, travelling around schools in Peterborough delivering invites for complimentary dance delivery. The response, yet again has been incredible says Stuart.

The new Golden Mile ‘Base Line Measurement’ reporting document

The long awaited ‘Base Line Measurement’ reporting document will be circulated to licensees next week following its successful pilot.

A key stakeholder in a local authority in the north of England who is funding The Golden Mile to 5000 children has already commented about the impressive Base Line Measurement report. So much so, he is now presenting the findings to the Directors of Public Health on our behalf.

100 Club Celebrations

We recently hosted our first 100 Club Celebration Day in Suffolk, where qualifying businesses were invited to celebrate the hard work and success of their companies.  It provided an opportunity to receive bespoke support to help achieve maximum profit potential and also a chance to network and share good practice with similar sized businesses.

Somerset PE and School Sport Conference

Franchisee Andrew Overhill and Golden Mile Business Manager, Karl Fox attended the 2014 Somerset PE and School Sport Conference at the prestigious Millfield School. The event was attended by 100s of local primary schools and head teachers and provided a great opportunity for Andrew to discuss The Golden Mile initiative to many key decision makers in Somerset.

The Milfield School was the perfect setting for such an event having produced a long list of current and former Olympic athletes, including our very own gold medallist Duncan Goodhew.

Are your Summer holiday courses uploaded to the BMS?

Over the past 7 days, we have been inundated with parents trying to book Chewits holiday courses for the summer - but courses have not been uploaded onto the BMS!

This is costing YOU money if you haven’t yet uploaded them to the BMS. Take an hour out of your day to ensure all events are uploaded.

Core Training – Marketing Planning

This is a gentle reminder that the second 2014 Core Training session is next month, with Marketing Manager, Francisco Rosas delivering the Marketing Planning sessions.

This is an area where all franchisees can improve and save valuable time and money by creating a more strategic approach.

Accident / Incident reporting

In the build up to the summer holiday’s can we remind you all of the process regarding the reporting of incident and injury.

No matter how minor, all injuries should be recorded on an accident/incident report form and the parent/guardian upon de-registration should sign it. We have a duty to inform parents if their child has been involved in any type of accident/incident and if first aid has been administered.

The Golden Mile is now a mandatory part of our franchise package which reflects the successes our licensees are experiencing with a differentiated, innovative approach to engaging current, but especially new schools.

Uploading ‘Free Schools’ to your BMS

If you have ‘Free Schools’ within your territory and would like them added to your BMS school list, please email Bev Dennett.

You will be required to supply the following information to Bev –

  1. School name
  2. School Address including post code
  3. School telephone number

The latest edition of the Compass newsletter has been circulated to schools this week – the newsletter contains news and updates from external school sports and physical activity providers as well as the latest updates from the sports and activity industry, from best practices to new legislations.

1st4sport Qualifications have announced a new suite of qualifications for those wanting to work in physical education and school sport.

Developed in partnership with the Association for Physical Education (afPE), and with the support of Compass – the 1st4sport Physical Education and School Sport Suite is a set of qualifications that introduce learners to a number of roles in providing physical education and school sport.
