Wednesday 9th September is officially National Fitness Day!

9th September is National Fitness Day and this year ukactive - the leading not-for-profit health body for the physical activity sector - are excited to work with our franchisees and schools to help make it the most active day of the year.

National Fitness Day is about getting children of all ages to engage with physical activity in a positive way, helping build strong relationship with exercise and habits that will set them up to be an healthy adult.

We want to make it as easy as possible for schools and teachers to get involved, which is why we will be sending out extensive FREE collateral packs (listed in the ‘read more’ section) to all schools that sign up.

All schools that register by the 20th of July will be automatically entered into a prize draw. Prizes include a celebrity ambassador attend your National Fitness Day event, free physical activity courses and many more.

Partnership continues to add value to your businesses...

In the Weekly News Update on Friday 22nd May we told you about the summer promotion we’re running in association with Chewits. To date the joint partnership has gained regional and national press exposure with the help of Olympic medallist Darren Campbell. And there’s more to come, we’ve secured over 40 regional promotions in the local press and also confirmed national press coverage too. We estimate the combined value of all this activity will be in the region of £100,000 once the campaign is complete.

We’re going to send you some resources in the post next week to further support awareness of your summer courses, these resources will need to be visible at your course venues. And we’re going to make some downloads available too.

Arsenal ladies & England star inspires more girls to play sport in Cambridge & Newmarket

On Tuesday 30th June Arsenal Ladies and England under 19s footballer Carla Humphrey was on hand to inspire more primary school girls in Cambridge & Newmarket to take up sport.

Carla visited the pupils at The Grove Primary School to host an inspirational school assembly talking about the importance of playing sport and the benefits to young girls in particular. She then visited the pupils at Fen Ditton Primary School before delivering a once-in-a-lifetime coaching session to the girls at Laureate Community Primary School & Nursery.

‘A step back in time’ for 300 Norwich pupils at dance spectacular

On Thursday 9th July 2015 following weeks of rehearsals, 300 children from seven Norwich primary schools are set to perform dance routines that are set to dazzle the OPEN venue crowd in Norwich.

Pupils from Toftwood infant and junior, Scarning, Gt Witchingham, Mattishall, Drayton, and Costessey primary schools will perform this year’s theme ‘A step back in time’ designed to help each dance group to be as creative as possible. Songs & ideas have been explored throughout the rehearsal weeks & each individual group will interpret the theme in their own style.
