British schoolchildren are losing 80 per cent of fitness gained during term time through ‘lazy summer holidays,’ new research from ukactive has revealed.

The new testing methods developed by ukactive Research Institute alongside Premier Sport, the country’s leading provider of sports provision in schools, were aimed at providing a much more accurate measure of children’s fitness than the BMI alone, in a bid to help schools deliver a more informed view of health and fitness levels.

Our Recruitment team attended the prestigious bfa HSBC Franchisor Of The Year Awards in Nottingham last week. Premier Sport was shortlisted in the Franchisee Recruitment category.

We didn’t scoop the award on the night but the British Franchise Association (bfa) recognised Premier as one of the UK’s most exceptional operators in a range of categories, including business growth and development, service excellence and ethical franchising practice.

I’m one of the lucky guys - why? Because I love what I do, and am constantly fascinated and inspired by the people who I meet. Starting from home in sleepy Somerset, I have been on tour over the last week. So, as everyone was heading towards Glastonbury to jump around in mud, I was heading off to meet great people who wish to find out more about Premier, before putting my other hat on and attending the bfa board meeting and the bfa annual conference.

Premier Sport Activity Professional, Luke Askew, was helping out at a Race for Life charity event for Cancer Research UK with St Peter’s Primary School in Blackburn. Every child from the school in years 1-6 ran a mile at the event, for this important cause.
