Premier Sport recognised for excellence at the 2015 Franchise Marketing Awards
|
For the second year running, the Premier Sport Marketing team was named as a finalist in the ‘Best Overall Marketing Campaign’ category at the 2015 Franchise Marketing Awards, which recognises the industry’s most innovative and effective marketing campaigns.
In this strong category, franchisors are recognised for their consistency of approach, overall impact, brand awareness and development of a theme across at least three media.

That’s not it; Premier Sport was also been named as finalist’s in the coveted ‘Best Franchisee Marketing Support Award’. This top award is for demonstrating excellent training, management and support to new franchisees to aid their marketing activity, incorporating analysis of objectives and measurable results.

Olympic gold medallist urges more competitive sport in schools
|
Olympic gold medallist Duncan Goodhew MBE urged primary schools across the UK to encourage more competitive school sport at a football and basketball tournament in Maidstone on Tuesday 24th March 2015 which was hotly contested by 60 children from eight primary schools.
Duncan commented: I’m encouraged that the Premier Sport team are working in partnership with all these schools, to support the non sporty children as well as creating future Olympic stars through competitive sport. This wouldn’t have been possible without sporting programmes like ‘Inspire to Engage’ which is part of Premier Sport’s brilliant Inspire Programme.”

Head teacher, Wendy Skinner from Brunswick House Primary School commented:
“Premier Sport has provided an excellent opportunity for local schools to showcase and celebrate their pupils’ sporting talents and we were extremely keen to be part of this event.”

Former bfa Chairman and Olympic Gold Medallist reward Premier Sport Franchisees for business success

Former bfa Chairman and successful franchisor Melvin Lusty joined Olympic Gold Medallist and Businessman Duncan Goodhew MBE in the stunning surroundings of Dunstan Hall Golf & Country Club, to celebrate the successes of over 100 Premier Sport franchisees.
This annual event brings together franchisees from all four corners of the country to not only celebrate success of the past 12 months, but also learn and impart knowledge with fellow business owners to ensure the next 12 months will be even more successful.

National Sun Awareness Survey for Outdoor Activity Leaders – that means you!
|
The Outdoor Kids Sun Safety Code is the first sun protection initiative for those who work outdoors with children. Launched in 2014, it is now supported by over 80 National Governing Bodies and outdoor organisations including Premier Sport. This year the Myfanwy Townsend Melanoma Research Fund (the charity behind the initiative) is launching a national survey to investigate the current provision of sun protection for children in the UK.

Ofsted videos on ‘good practice in competitive school sport’
|
Ofsted have released a two part video highlighting ‘good practice in competitive school sport’.
Part one shows how Eastbury Comprehensive School has excelled at competitive school sport and is introduced by Ofsted’s National Lead for physical education, John Mitcheson HMI. The short video includes detail about futsal, table tennis, rounders and football.

The second video demonstrates good practice at Barking Abbey School. The school have excelled at competitive school sport, including basketball, netball and football.

1st4sport External Verifier sings the praises of our combined 3 in 1 qual
|
Andrew Thomson, a Multi-Skills External Verifier for 1st4sport, recently visited PEG Head Office to observe our ability to deliver the 3 in 1 combined qualification, including PESS L2, Principles of Coaching L2 and Multi-Skills L2.
Before Andrew’s visit, he questioned how we can blend this valuable learning into a one week course.
We’re delighted to announce the external verification got a big thumbs up from Andrew who commented:

‘Delivering the underpinning knowledge and skills of 3 qualifications though a week’s blended learning is a challenge, but it worked. Clearly the careful planning by the tutors and assessors and highly motivated learners combined to make this a success’.

On with the show! Have you raised the curtain on a Premier Showdown?
|
Newmarket schools’ Premier Showdown is set to take place at Newmarket Academy on Wednesday 25th March at 6:30pm. With a 200 capacity audience, panel of judges and grand stage, the competition is set to be quite a spectacle.
There will be 10 schools involved from Gareth Simpson’s territory performing on the night, varying in ages from year 1 to year 6. The secondary school students from the academy will also perform on the night which is set to inspire the younger children to dance the night away.

Coaching in Primary Schools Portal revamp
|
Sports coach UK, with the support of National Partners including COMPASS, has revamped the Coaching in Primary Schools Portal following recommendations from schools across England. The Portal is a free to access resource for schools identifying a need for coaching through the Primary PE and Sport Premium. With just a couple of clicks, Head Teachers and PE Leads can find all the information they require to effectively and sustainably recruit and deploy a coach in their school.

Sports coach UK has supported Sport England on the development of a series of video clips, featuring Children’s Minister, Edward Timpson MP. The videos detail how schools can maximise the impact and sustainability of the Primary PE and Sport Premium and will be available on the Coaching in Primary Schools Portal.
