New Activity Professional Widget - Live
Activity Professionals had a new widget go live on their BMS home screen this week, showing assessment statistics. View the widget here.

Activity Professionals will now be able to clearly see:
- If they are up to date on their assessments
- What assessments have been carried out
- Assessment scoring, including an average score for the year
- Performance compared to previous year
- 3 Action Points from their last assessment
|
This should aid with action planning and identifying further CPD requirements. Core Value no.4.

In March 2013, the Government announced a major new funding stream to support the delivery of Physical Education and School Sport (PESS) in primary schools. The most common use of the funding is up-skilling and training staff and recruiting sport coaches to work in schools. Initially the sport premium was allocated £159 million from 2013 – 2015, the funding has since been extended and a commitment has been made to the PESS premium to 2020.

Road to Rio Fitness Challenge Gets Children Active

The Golden Mile in partnership with Premier Sport have launched a FREE virtual Road to Rio Challenge< that sees schools race from one continent to another, eventually arriving at the Rio Games this summer, with a chance to win some cool prizes along the way.
Schools are competing to win a free sports day this summer, in a number of different sports, provided by the UK’s leading provider, Premier Sport.

Following the launch of The Golden Mile’s ‘Road to Rio’ Programme, you will shortly be receiving information regarding Premier Sport’s exciting new Road to Rio programme.
This programme is designed to help you gain leverage into as many schools as possible during the summer term. The mechanics and programme deliverables are both very simple and will prove to be a great way to access new schools in an attempt to secure business from September.

Premier Sport Wins National Award
|
The Premier Sport marketing team scooped Best PR Campaign at this year’s Franchise Marketing Awards at London Olympia, which recognises the industry’s most innovative and effective marketing campaigns.
In the coveted ‘Best PR Campaign’ category, Premier Sport was up against three other leading franchisors and eventually secured top spot for capturing the imagination of the desired audience by offering 10,000 free places on their sports activities last summer. Premier Sport was also shortlisted in the ‘Best Franchise Marketing Support’ for their excellent training, management and support provided to new franchisees to aid their marketing activity.

ukactive & Partners Respond to Budget

ukactive and partners, including Premier have responded to the 2016 budget and in particular George Osborne’s announcement that a levy on sugar will get the next generation ‘fit for the future’, and welcomes the extra investment for children’s activity programmes.
Responding to the announcement that the Primary PE and Sport Premium will be doubled to £320m to spend from 2017, Executive Director Steven Ward said it was a chance to turn the tide on generation inactive.
