Are you meeting the Minimum Operating Standards (MOS)?

The world’s best deliverers/Coaches/Activity Professional’s didn’t start out that way. From Sir Alex Ferguson to José Mourinho, they all made mistakes working with lower league teams at less prestigious clubs; but they all have one key drive and that’s to succeed within their role.

If we take José Mourinho as a example, he studied both as a coach and PE teacher working as an adult elite coach, youth coach and PE teacher. He also worked closely with his mentor, Bobby Robson who would be critical of his performance and what he needed to do to improve and be the best.

There are many examples from successful sporting leaders that we all aspire to be. They didn’t just walk into these top jobs; they worked relentlessly every day to get better.

Our role as Activity Professionals and leaders is about people, and collaboratively making people better.  If I was to ask you what your prime objective is as Activity Professionals, what would you say?

*MUST READ* Education Excellence Everywhere

Written by Yvonne Gandy, Education Strategic Lead, Premier Education Group

‘Every child and young person can access high quality provision, achieving to the best of his or her ability, regardless of location and prior attainment of background’

The Government’s White Paper, Education Excellence Everywhere, strategy overview (March 2016) and the intention to make all schools Academies by 2020 is causing concern. Threats to strike over the push towards academisation are being backed by unions as this goes to press – however, I would like to use the key elements, taken from the White Paper, as a framework to highlight key points raised in the paper.

Let’s also take time to reflect on Physical Education and Sport (PESS) and the use of external providers in schools and academies...

Chris Kamara Named Face of Summer Campaign

We’ve now confirmed the press launch and ambassador for this year’s Chewits summer campaign, whereby we’ll be providing 10,000 free ‘Inspire to Engage’ days.

The launch event will take place on Thursday 28th April at Franchisee, Michael Johnson’s school in Newham, London. The campaign will be backed by ex-footballer and prime-time TV presenter, Chris Kamara.

Chris’ sporting profile within the written press as well as his regular TV work for Sky Sports and hosting ITV’s Ninja Warrior was an attractive proposition for Chewits and Premier who are hoping to replicate the £250,000 worth of PR value as well as huge brand exposure from last year.

Chris, a Dad of two has certainly overcome adversity throughout his life to get to where he is today. A tough upbringing led him into the army at the age of just 16 before being signing by Portsmouth. Chris’ story will certainly prove an inspiration to the children at Michael’s school.

Be Irreplaceable...

It’s crunch time for schools as they are now planning all provision across all subjects for the next academic year. School Business Mangers will be working extremely hard with school leaders to ensure that each area of school development is getting value for money. Without question the Business Managers will be scrutinising all areas of external provision including you.

View Andy’s video and recording that outlines the key areas in which you can ensure you’re irreplaceable in the next academic year and learn the differences between successful and unsuccessful Activity Professionals.

Premier Transition is Here!

“We’re excited to inform you that the product training for the Premier Transition pilot was delivered last week and was a huge success with the selected franchisees. It was fantastic to finally see our idea brought to life in the form of the resources, lesson plans etc.. 10 months on from when the vision was first discussed.” Comments, Karl Fox

The training covered all three programmes, Play-trition, Fun-trition and Fit-trition over a three day period.

We’ll leave you with Andy and James to provide some feedback after attending the Premier Transition training last week.

We’ve also had the thoughts of Activity Professionals, Ross Catchpole and Helen Britten who will both be responsible for implementing the Premier Transition programmes on behalf of their franchise.

Premier’s Road(s) to Rio...

Premier Education Group have created two ‘Road to Rio’ offers ahead of the games this summer. Both named the same but very different in delivery and orientation.

To avoid confusion for stakeholders, we’ve created a landing page displaying both the Premier Sport and Golden Mile initiatives. You can point your schools in the direction of this page.
